You can always buy your books, music and DVDs from secondhand/thrift/charity shops, because none of that money will go back to the corporations. Or take the opportunity to swap what you already have with your friends. (I hope enough people could participate in this to actually make a noticeable difference, but my cynicism level is too high.) your host/ess would like to encourage you to do this more because I am ridiculously delighted by the concept of lots of people doing the same thing at the same time for a common purpose than because I am committed to the cause. all the same, don&#8217;t you wonder whether it would work like they say? wouldn&#8217;t it be interesting to find out?
